Breville Ikon Multi-Speed Juice Fountain is 900 watts. It has a 5 speed high speed motor that features a built-in electronic smart chip that increases power to the cutting disc under heavy loads. As a result, the filter extracts more juice and can make an 8 ounce glass in just 5 seconds. The 3" feed tube allows for the easy and efficient processing of whole fruits and vegetables, without pre-cutting, slicing or peeling. It is uniquely positioned directly over the center of the cutting disc for better balance and consistent results. The 5 speed settings make the Ikon Juice Fountain the most versatile juice extractor available. The lower speeds are for softer fruits and leafy green vegetables. The higher speeds maximize extraction from dense foods such as apples and carrots.

 "Amazing product, nuff said" 2009-11-19
By Geoff M. Stiles (Temecula, CA)
As a long time juicer (15+ years), I've been through a few machines. From the ACME and it's PIA paper filters to a Juiceman that finally died after many years of hard use. Right off the bat, this is one awesome machine. To wit:

1. VERY high quality construction. All the parts weigh (what seems like) double what my old Juiceman did. It is made from very thick acrylic (or maybe its polycarbonate, I dunno) which looks like it will hold up to years of hard use.

2. The areas that get "wet" are all very smooth with no little nooks and crannies for pulp to accumulate or hide in. Very well thought out design.

3. EXTREMELY easy to clean. I just take the parts and hose them off in the sink with my faucet sprayer. Then I take the supplied brush and scrub the screen on the basket. Maybe 3 minutes, tops. Took me far longer with my Juiceman. I spend more time cleaning my food processor after using it than this juicer.

4. NO BITS SPRAYING OUT THE CHUTE! That was the worst thing about my last juicer. This unit's bin fits snugly against the chute for ZERO chance of spraying pulp. Great design.

5. Love the pitcher that comes with it. I tried using my normal 20oz glass but the force of the air blowing out of the machine sprays juice all over the place. No problem, just use the supplied pitcher. No mess and it skims the foam (makes my wife happy, she hates foam).

6. PULP IS DRY! Well, it's not saw dust dry, but it's far dryer than my last Juiceman. I have to squeeze the pulp very hard in my hand to get any more juice out. BTW, my last Juiceman was the top of the line one when I bought it, not the crappy Juiceman II. Anyway, the Breville is much more efficient and the variable speed worked will on the kiwis I threw at it.

7. I juiced about 40oz with out stopping (except for emptying the pitcher) and had no problems. No clogging at all. I juiced kiwi, apples, beets, carrots, Brussels sprouts, bell peppers and parsley. All went through with flying colors and no clogs or slow downs.

I dunno what more to say. If you are looking for a juicer and can afford $170, buy it.

 "Great product!" 2009-11-08

This is a great machine, very powerful you just need to clean it often when making large quantities of juice or else the juice will not come out. Other than that I would recommend it to anyone.

"Very Pleased and well made" 2009-10-29
By L. Justman (San Francisco, CA)
My Breville Juicer arrived yesterday and I have used it three times already. Very well made and I am pleased with the results of the juice it extracts. The pulp was on the dry side so it is working like it should. Yes, there are many pieces to clean but I just rinsed everything and put into hot soapy water to soak while I sipped my juice so the cleaning to me was not a big deal. Also, I do not find it that loud, my coffee grinder and cuisinart are much louder. Amazon shipped on time and all is good. The reviews here really helped me make a good choice.

"8 months and on the fritz" 2009-10-26
By always learning
i love juicing. i juice daily for my family. however after 8 mos. of daily use, the filter/mesh part is coming apart from the funnel. i don't juice the cores of apples or pears, but i do juice lemons & grapefruit with the seeds in it. i called for a replacement part and it costs $65 plus shipping. Quite an Expensive part. I do not recommned this model. Before this model, i had an a juicer that lasted 5 yrs that is no longer available.

 "Like my Juicer.... but" 2009-10-24
By Mo of Tobyhanna (Tobyhanna, PA)
I have been using my juicer for over 3 months now and really like the fact that I rarely have to cut my fruits in order for them to fit. I use it at least 2 times per week, and I am very happy that I am adding to a healthy lifestyle. The one problem I have been experiencing is getting thin slices of both carrots and apples along with the pulp. I must admit though that the pulp is dry. I have called Breville and they told me to ensure that I am making the correct speed selection for the correct fruit/vegetables. For example, I use speed 5 for the carrots and apples, but I still see some thin slices. I again tried speed 4 and saw the same problem. It's not a lot, but enough to cause some concern. Afterall, fruits and vegetables can be costly, and this can be translated into wasting my money and the produce. I welcome any suggestion if someone had this problem and was able to resolve it.
